what happens to the money collected?
|
|
In simple terms the money collected from national insurance and other taxes is used to pay for all the benefits that are available to support different people. Some people may go throughout their life claiming very few benefits, except perhaps, their pension. Other people will claim many benefits as they have little income. The National Insurance system is a safeguard for everyone – if you need help it should be available through this system.
