| If you have an income above a certain minimum amount of money (currently £6475) you will have to pay Income Tax to the Government. It is not an option! It is a legal requirement that everyone has to pay it and the Inland Revenue is the Government body responsible for collecting the money. | ||
| The money raised by Income Tax is the main source of income for the Government and it is used to pay for services provided by the state, such as education, health, law enforcement, national security etc. Without this money the Government would not be able to provide money to run our hospitals or schools, for example. | ||
